Jonathan and I spent our Thanksgiving in Murphy, North Carolina with Jonathan's family. We had a really great time. A friend of ours has a home that they rent in North Carolina because they are planning to move there soon. They weren't going to be using it during the holiday weekend, so they allowed Jonathan and I (and his family) to meet there. It was definitely a HUGE blessing. :o)
This is a picture of the house. I felt like I was back in the mountains of Colorado. It was so quiet and peaceful up there. One morning, I worked on my Bible study on the porch swing. It was so nice to get away from the "busyness" of life and just "be" for a little while.
We celebrated Thanksgiving on Friday instead of on Thursday because we were all traveling to North Carolina on Thursday. Here is a "before" picture of the turkey that Jonathan cooked.
And here is the "after" picture. The turkey and all the "fixings" all tasted sooooo yummy!!!
When Jonathan got to work on Monday, he was informed that he was being laid off due to a lack in finances. His last day will be on Dec. 19th. We see this as an answer to prayer because about four weeks ago, we had started to pray and ask God if Jonathan was supposed to continue working at his current job or not. I guess God answered that one, loud and clearly. The really cool thing about it all is that when we got home on Monday night, my dad had sent us a package. He was sending us his old Ipod. There was also an envelope in the package. When we opened the envelope my dad had told us that he had needed to sell some of his stock options at work and he was sending us some of the money. The check was for $1500.00 and we had NO IDEA that this money was coming to us. My dad had also post-dated the check for December 1st (the same date that Jonathan had been told he was getting laid off.) Only God could have lined up that "timing". :o) We know that there is another job out there for Jonathan, we just ask that you be praying with us that our eyes will be open to see what it is. We know that God is protecting and providing for us during this time.
****in case you are wondering why the "job" part of this story is in a different color, it is because for some reason I couldn't get blogspot to allow me to turn this part into another paragraph. So weird!!******
